I asked other bloggers to share their reason behind creating their blogs and how they get motivated. I posted on Twitter about a Motivational post I wanted to write to show people that they can accomplish what they want and follow their dreams. I wasn’t expecting the massive response I’ve gotten!
For me, I created my blog as a way to share my experiences with other people, I don’t have a great social life and I struggle to meet new people with my blog I am able to connect with more people and grow confidence in my writing. I also wanted to inspire and motivate other people to follow their dreams. One of my biggest motivations is that I have a lot of people to prove wrong, so many people have doubted me and my writing and I plan to show them that I can do it.
“The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.” ― Confucius: The Analects
I love this quote because it show’s that everything is possible and that sometime’s all those small stones (tasks) can really add up and amount to something bigger.

“I started blogging because I wanted to educate people on mental health and wellness. The stigma surrounding this topic is insane. It’s such a huge part of our lives and affects every single person on a daily basis, regardless of the severity. My reason for blogging is really what motivates me to do it every day. So many people struggle with mental health and being healthy. If one of my posts can help them in their journey than I’m satisfied. My favorite quote has always and will forever be “throw me to the wolves and I will return leading the pack.” I’m not entirely sure why it’s my favorite because I don’t see myself as a take-charge leader, but every time I read it, it evokes such strong feelings of motivation and drives in myself.”

“I started my blog as a way to reconnect; first with myself and then with others through my writing. So, I think I have two different motives to blog. One is more internal; the other is more external. Blogging is a way to satisfy my own need of understanding my feelings, thoughts, and behaviours, but I also blog to connect with others and to feel part of a community in which I feel good in. I think being a “blogger” grants me the freedom I need to be myself and it also allows me to understand life better because other bloggers feel safe to share their own stories and experiences with me. A quote that inspires me would be one attributed to Audrey Hepburn: “Anyone who does not believe in miracles is not a realist” (Audrey Hepburn).”

“The idea of my blog came to me one morning whilst I was writing for CEX, a film, and game company that I write reviews for. I was thinking about how much I love to write and review and it just sort of clicked – why not start a blog? Writing has always been a passion of mine and it’s something I want to do in the future full-time, so it made sense to start building those foundations now. I chose to review four things that I love – books, food and drink places, days out, and international travel, and it’s given even more of a reason to take part in those activities which is great! Generally, I’m quite good at staying motivated with blogging as I love the interactions I get to have with others. There’s something quite addictive about liking and commenting! I’ve set myself a schedule for my posts so I’m motivated to hit those as I know if I don’t I’ll be letting people down. I think having a variety on my blog really helps as well – I’m one of those people that gets bored of doing the same thing over and over again so I know I’ve got lots of different focuses I can work on and switch between with my blog. To motivate myself to actually write a post I find the most useful thing is to set up my ‘blogging zone’. This is the office/studio in our house, which at the moment comprises of a desk, an easel, and lots of nice, empty space. Before writing I set my laptop and notes up, light some uplifting candles and incense, and grab myself a cup of tea or coffee – the phone stays out of the room and the door is firmly closed! I’m always so much more productive when I do this first, so I’d recommend getting a similar ritual set up for anyone that struggles to get that initial motivation.M y absolute favourite quote is by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” The reason I love this particular quote is that not only does it motivate but it also takes into account that sometimes you don’t want to go full-throttle into something and that’s okay. Self-care and work-life balance are so important to me so this quote reminds me that I’m still moving forward even when I’m struggling – I just need to do something small to keep it going.”

“People are very different when it comes to communication. Some are expressing themselves with talking, others with writing and probably there are as well quite a few introverted listeners. Doesn’t matter what kind of communication you have in your nature as long as you can express what you feel. I found myself in writing. For a long time, I didn’t really know how to share my thoughts. I realized that all my feelings and words in my head don’t sound exactly the same when I talk. My love for sharing experiences and advice to others made me start writing my blog. I wrote the first article about pregnancy and birth of my daughter Michelle and I finally felt peace in mind. The quiet moments I spend working on my blog are a healing process for my soul. It is like meditation for me and all the great responses I get are a driving force to keep me writing even more. If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. And that’s what life is about, to enjoy every moment and create an environment that makes you happy.”

“I began my blog for a few reasons, first, I want to help people learn to tune into their spirituality, without fear or holding back. Next, I wanted to create awareness for my upcoming twitch channel, “Manda Mystic Gaming” a channel that will focus on spiritual self-care it focuses on raising money to help animal sanctuaries. What drives me to blog is my passion for writing. I was 12 years old taking my first writing class which involved poetry writing and journaling. I’m not kidding when I say it really fueled my life as a teenager. Before the world of iPads and on the go mobile journaling I was the girl who owned every journal under the sun!! I wrote stories in 5 subject notebooks, I would typewrite. It’s the gift of being able to heal someone from heartache, connect with their spirituality, walk along with the imaginative world of fiction, and spark emotion giving out hope to those who live in the dark. That my dear is what motivates me to blog. “Life is the canvas we paint our dreams on” It’s a quote that came to me a few years ago and I have used it ever since. Life is like art literally we are the hands that move the situations we go through life. We can use this to heal from experiences and transform our life into something beautiful, much like an artist turns an empty slate of paper or canvas into something exquisite!”

“I started my Blog in August 2018 – originally it was intended to mainly cover the Shows that I host and present. I also do ‘Show and Tells’ in Schools and Nurseries with our guinea pigs. Well, the guinea pig photos proved incredibly popular, so I now make sure I include lots of update on them. We have a core of 7 adults, and we went to 22 after 4 sets of babies were born in January – we are now at 11, after 4 born this week. The big shows I do (in front of crowds of hundreds) include – Talent Shows, Dog Shows and also outdoor Cinema Shows – a highlight of that was a 90 min ‘warm-up’……while we waited for it to get dark! These are great fun and I love the interaction with people – you simply never know what you get next, it’s totally thinking on your feet… I absolutely love it. I also started my blog as a means to be creative – although it’s not in the league of most of the others I have seen – which are amazing !! I like to develop mine slowly, picking up Blog Followers as I go – I’m at 231 now, stunned at that after 7 months). It’s great to create and keep a record of both the Shows I host and also the guinea pigs. I direct all ‘perspective’ buyers of my surplus guinea pigs to my blog – so they can see what I have etc. I really enjoy the feedback and opinions of the ‘blog readers’ – I have tapped into many past memories that people have shared – that is lovely.
A quote that motivates me: None really. But let’s just say that life does go by really quickly, and you need to make the most of all the opportunities presented to you. We regret more on what we don’t do than what we do try!”

“I started my blog as a “secret” online diary. It wasn’t until I was strongly encouraged by my friends and boss that I decided to make it “official” and share it publicly. My students are a huge motivation. It’s a great reference point that I don’t just teach writing, but I AM a writer. My blog allows them to see that not all writing has to be in the traditional academic sense. Writing can be fun and witty and entertaining while still sending a message! “Silly girl, your different was your beautiful all along” ~Atticus”

“I started blogging as a way to share some things that I felt I could offer other people. I also started blogging as a way to open up about my life and some of the things I have gone through to better connect with others similar to me. I am motivated to blog by the desire to keep sharing things as I learn them. I really want new bloggers to feel comfortable and teach them as much as I can. The community of bloggers is amazing and I love being able to share with so many people. The quote that motivates me right now is: “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great” – Rich Froning”

It was really nice to participate! Your post turned out amazingly cool, it’s nice to read so many different answers and reasons behind blogging. It’s nice to know your ‘why’ too!! I personally can relate to your reason about social life. I can count one person in my circle of friends for now IRL. That was also why I started blogging anyway too, to find my ‘tribe’. It’s really amazing to get the chance to ‘meet’ people like you in the blogging community! Thanks for your hard work!

Really interesting to hear other bloggers why. I think I can be guilty of losing sight of that and being disheartened sometimes. Thanks to everyone for their motivation!
