It’s always a pleasure to be asked to review Neeta’s books as they are always filled with positivity and motivation. My Super-Compact Self-Care Script is another beautiful addition to Neeta Oza’s A-Z Self Help Series. Neeta has a positive writing style which always leaves me feeling great after reading her short books, they leave me feeling empowered and ready to make a real change in my life.

super compact self care script 1

My Super-Compact Self-Care Script is filled with an A-Z to help guide you into practising good self-care, it is filled with great reminders that you are important as a person and that you must take good care of yourself to be the best version of yourself. This book managed to find me during a really rough time in my life and I am hoping I can use some of its guidance during this time. I feel as though I am impacted greatly by the advice and messages within this handbook and I will use them to help guide me on my own journey to practise good self-care.

I would highly recommend any of Neeta’s Self Help books as they are enlightening to an open and positive mindset. They are small, compact and easy to read, very easy to pick up and put down as many times as you want as are the rest of the books in this series. Neeta is a fitness instructor who works with the Mind Charity,  who has worked amongst many inspirational speakers such as Gary Vee.

The Anxiety Crisis Kit – Mental Health Awareness Week 2019 (2/7)

Today I’d like to talk about ‘Personal Crisis Survival kits’ and how you can make your own. I took some idea’s from other crisis kits and made one more specialized to my own needs. I chose Anxiety specifically because I am a sufferer and I feel like this may help other people who are suffering.

Read on for a special giveaway at the end.

The idea of this kit is that you can find some calm during the storm. I plan on using my Anxiety Crisis box when I am having a panic or anxiety attack or when I am feeling low mood caused by my anxiety. The idea is that the box is filled with things that you find calming, this post is just filled with my suggestions on what helps me.

Find a box that is big enough to fit all of your items in but small enough to take out with you if need be. You could also use a bag which fits these items in keeping them together in one place. If you do decide to use a box why not decorate it? I did, I love using different bits of scrap patterned paper to create a beautiful unique box.

Headphones and MP3 player.

I have filled an entire MP3 player full of songs that make me happy! I find music to be very calming and it provokes a positive emotion if I play particular songs. Sometimes I find listening to music on my phone more complicated as I find myself on Social Media instead of actually enjoying the music. On my MP3 player, all of the songs have been well thought out, so that I will only progress after listening to them.

Favourite snack.

This item may be a bit trickier as you may have to replace the one in your box depending on how often or how little you are going to use this box. For me, when I am having a panic attack I often feel nauseous, and occasionally snacking at a piece of food can make the nausea feeling subside.

Aromatherapy – Essential Oils or A Candle.

Aromatherapy is one of the most useful and interesting things I have ever come across. It helps your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Of course, I wouldn’t mind if you chose to buy one of my candles! (Wink, Wink Hyperlink)

Miscellaneous Fidget Toys

I find having something to do can be beneficial as it will help concentrate the mind and it also opens up your sense of touch. Whether you want to use a fidget spinner, stress ball, Rubix cube, etc find something that suits you and your needs.

Photographs or Motivating Messages

Pick out some photographs which make you feel calm or relaxed to look through whilst you are feeling low. Get some close friends or family to write you a note, alternatively, you could google motivating messages and scribe these down to read over.

Pressure Points

So I know this isn’t technically something you can put into your box, but it is something you could print off and place inside your box to try. I’ve been looking into this for a while now and fortunately enough I haven’t felt the need to try it out myself yet but when I do, I may write a post elaborating more on the subject.

The Anxiety Journal

Start Living Today – Workbook Review

I was asked to review this lovely ‘Start Living Today’ workbook by The Wellbeing Blogger.

Start living today

The Start Living Today workbook is 30 pages long and has 3 main activities for you to think about. The workbook is filled with positive quotes and encourages you to carry on and get the booklet finished.

I can truly say that completing the tasks in this workbook were provoking thought and helping me think about what aspects of my life I value and how I can change the ones I feel I am not doing enough at.

The workbook can be completed in about an hour depending on how easy you find it to answer the activities. I found one part more challenging than the rest and it was when I had to scale what I think I achieve on all of the aspects of my life. It can be difficult to admit to lacking in certain aspects of your life whether that be family, fitness, work or a relationship.

Start Living Today is a PDF file which you can easily turn into a little booklet like I did by printing it off. Start Living Today is simple but could be very effective if you answer the questions honestly and accept that you want the change.

I really enjoyed completing this workbook and I’m hoping that I can reflect regularly on the things I have written and make a real change.

Vanessa from The Wellbeing Blogger is a former psychologist who now works as a Wellbeing Coach, educator, and consultant. She made this workbook when she realized she wanted a change and to sort her own life out. Now she has shared it with us all in the hope of helping us too.
